President's Message

Are you looking to be a better speaker, trainer, coach, podcast host or author?  Are you looking to build a better business?  Are you looking to M.A.I. – Make An Impact?
Then you are in the right place!

Welcome to the Washington DC area chapter of the National Speakers Association!

Who are we?  We are a community of people committed to growing in the art and business of uplifting the world with our message.

We do this through establishing Community, providing world-class Content, establish Connections, and help speakers earn the Credentials that will demonstrate credibility.

Our focus is on providing world-class content to help you as a speaker, trainer, coach, podcast host, author improve your craft.  This year we will have monthly meetings with top rated industry speakers providing practical insights and strategies to help you grow in your art and business.

In addition to our monthly chapter meetings, I’m excited to introduce 4 new initiatives as part of my vision for this year.  On the third Monday of each month, we will have Mastermind Mondays.  From 7:00 – 8:30 pm via Zoom, we will have an opportunity to share knowledge and skills, ideas and feedback, support and encouragement, momentum and motivation as we grow our businesses.  If you have not been part of a mastermind group before, you will find this to be incredibly valuable.

Another new initiative is going to be on the first Thursday of every month, we will be Tech Thursdays.  This will also be from 7:00 – 8:30 pm via Zoom, where we will have a practical tech session on how to use different tools that will help you grow your business.  From utilizing A.I., to setting up profiles in eSpeakers, to how to get the most out of Talkadot!, using audience participation tools such as Mentimeter, Slido, etc., each month we will have a deeper dive into how to use these tools.

Once a month we will also have opportunities for in-person socializing.  We will select different spots in and around the DMV to gather for fun, fellowship and food.  It will be a great way to network with our fellow members and get to know your “tribe” better.

Finally, we are going to have a focused effort on helping people through the process of earning the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation.  Those interested will be going through the process together and supporting each other with guidance from our very own chapter expert.  Our goal is to have a whole contingent from NSA-DC walking across the stage at Influence 2026 receiving our CSP medallions!

All of this is intended to provide all the tools for you to be a better speaker and to build a better business so that you will be able to M.A.I. – Make An Impact with your message!
